Selma has been told that she has aged like a fine wine - I might be inclined to disagree. But as a piece of wonky art, she is just fine. The vibrant gold background with splashes of red and blue sets off her face, which is done with graphite over gesso. Her bright blue eyes look right at you! She reminds me of a grammar school teacher I once had.
